I have to give credit to my Great Grandmother on my mother’s side who ran a gambling hall and speak easy during prohibition in New York City. Her name was Rose and she was said to be the best gin and poker player of her time. She passed just before I turned eight, but she taught me to play gin, and I remember I could never beat her even when she played her hand face up.

I am sure her early lessons helped, as well as the genetic advantage that must have been passed down to me. More
 
Poker for me, as with much of life has been about the experience.  I think it is competition and entertainment and allows for a unique interpersonal interaction.  I have met some interesting people and made some great friends through poker.
